The Maisonneuve Terminal at Port of Montréal introduces energy efficient lighting

Port of Montréal
Canada
2026

Project overview

Terminal operator Termont upgraded the outdoor lighting system at the Port of Montréal’s Maisonneuve Terminal to improve safety, reliability, and environmental performance. Developed with Concept Illumination, the LED retrofit reduces energy consumption by more than 80%, lowers maintenance needs, and minimizes light pollution by placing the new luminaires parallel to the ground, reducing glare and focussing illumination on work areas. The project was completed in four weeks with minimal disruption to terminal operations, and demonstrates how smart lighting technologies can enhance efficiency and sustainability in active port environments.
