APM Terminals Los Angeles achieves TRUE Silver certification for near zero-waste operations

Port of Los Angeles
USA
2026

Project overview

APM Terminals Los Angeles at Pier 400 has achieved TRUE (Total Resource Use and Efficiency) certification at the Silver level, for near zero-waste operations. Over a 12-month period, the terminal diverted approximately 20,000 tons delivering a 97.4% diversion rate. This is a great success for the ambitious landfill-diversion goals set by the city and the port. This is one of the many sustainability initiatives led by APM Terminals with ambitions for Pier 400 to be the most environmentally responsible and sustainable container terminal operator on the U.S. West Coast. Read more about APM Terminals' industry-leading global commitment to be fully net zero by 2040 across all of its terminals, here.
