The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and CALSTART have launched $45 million in programs to accelerate zero-emission trucking at the Port of New York and New Jersey. The initiative commencing this fall includes up to $39 million in incentives for zero-emission drayage trucks, yard tractors and charging infrastructure, plus a $5 million Green Drayage Accelerator (GDA) program to support charging hubs near the port. Funding comes through a $451 million grant awarded to the Port Authority through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Ports Program, the largest sustainability grant in Port Authority history.
